Privacy explainer
SimuPlan is designed so you can explore retirement planning without creating an account, linking financial institutions, or storing your plan in a SimuPlan cloud account. Your planning data is saved in your browser's local storage on the device and browser you use.
Because SimuPlan does not store your plan in the cloud, backups are controlled by you. Exporting a JSON backup lets you preserve your plan, restore it later, or move it to another browser or computer.
SimuPlan uses basic, anonymous analytics to understand site traffic and improve the product. These analytics help measure things like page visits, button clicks, device type, and general usage patterns. SimuPlan does not collect financial account information, balances, account names, addresses, login credentials, personally identifiable information, or the contents of your saved plan. Your planning data stays in your browser unless you choose to export it.
SimuPlan sends information off your device only when you choose to submit the Contact & Feedback form. A submission includes the message type, your written message, an optional reply email address, and limited technical context such as planning mode, app release, browser family, and device category. You may also choose to attach one PNG, JPEG, or WebP screenshot up to 3 MB. A screenshot can contain personal or financial information visible in the image, so attach only what you are comfortable sending. SimuPlan does not automatically attach balances, account names, scenario names, plan assumptions, or locally stored plan data. Contact messages and user-selected screenshots are delivered through an email service, are not stored by SimuPlan, and are not added to SimuPlan's anonymous analytics.
